1. Introduction

Welcome to Kerfix. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of our mobile phone and tech repair services ("Services") provided by Kerfix ("we," "us," or "our") in North Cornwall, United Kingdom.

By booking our services or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Services.

2. Our Services

Kerfix provides mobile repair services, meaning our technicians will come to your location (home, office, or other agreed location) within North Cornwall to repair your devices.

2.1 Service Area

Our mobile service covers North Cornwall. We reserve the right to refuse service outside our service area or charge additional travel fees for locations beyond our standard coverage area.

2.2 Service Types

We provide repair services for:

  • Smartphones and mobile phones
  • Tablets
  • Laptops and computers
  • Other electronic devices (as agreed)

We also offer device sales, trade-in programs, and technical support services.

3. Booking and Appointments

3.1 Booking

Appointments can be made via phone, email, or through our website. All bookings are subject to availability.

3.2 Cancellation Policy

You may cancel or reschedule your appointment with at least 24 hours' notice without charge. Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment may be subject to a cancellation fee of up to £25.

3.3 No-Show Policy

If you are not available at the agreed time and location, and we are unable to contact you, you may be charged a no-show fee of up to £50 to cover our travel costs.

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Quotes

We provide free diagnostic assessments. Repair quotes will be provided before any work begins. All prices are in British Pounds (GBP) and include VAT where applicable.

4.2 Payment

Payment is due upon completion of the repair service. We accept cash, card payments, and bank transfers. Payment must be made before the device is returned to you.

4.3 Additional Charges

Additional charges may apply for:

  • Travel to locations outside our standard service area
  • Emergency or same-day service requests
  • Complex repairs requiring additional time or parts
  • Data recovery services

Any additional charges will be discussed and agreed upon before work commences.

5. Warranty

5.1 Repair Warranty

All repairs come with a 90-day warranty covering defects in workmanship and parts. This warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by misuse, accidents, or water damage after repair
  • Damage to other components not repaired by us
  • Software issues unrelated to the repair
  • Normal wear and tear

5.2 Warranty Claims

To make a warranty claim, contact us within the warranty period. We will assess the issue and, if covered by warranty, repair or replace the component at no additional charge.

6. Data and Privacy

6.1 Data Backup

While we take every precaution, we strongly recommend that you back up all data before any repair service. We are not responsible for any data loss that may occur during the repair process.

6.2 Data Privacy

We respect your privacy and will not access, copy, or share your personal data without your explicit consent, except as required by law. Any data we may need to access for diagnostic purposes will be handled in accordance with UK data protection laws.

6.3 Device Security

We recommend removing passcodes and enabling "Find My" features before service. We are not responsible for any security issues that may arise if you choose not to follow these recommendations.

7. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid for the specific repair service
  • We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or incidental damages
  • We are not responsible for any loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
  • We are not liable for damage to devices that were already damaged or in poor condition before our service

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

8. Device Condition and Inspection

Before beginning any repair, we will inspect your device and note any existing damage or issues. You will be asked to confirm the condition of your device. Any damage not noted at the time of inspection will be considered pre-existing.

We reserve the right to refuse service if:

  • The device is in a condition that makes repair unsafe or impractical
  • The device has been previously repaired by unauthorized technicians in a way that compromises our ability to repair it safely
  • The device is reported as lost or stolen

9. Parts and Components

9.1 Parts Quality

We use high-quality replacement parts. Where possible, we use original manufacturer parts or equivalent quality alternatives. The type and quality of parts used will be discussed with you before installation.

9.2 Used or Refurbished Parts

With your consent, we may use refurbished or used parts. These parts will be clearly identified in your quote, and any warranty terms will be specified.

9.4 Part Availability

If parts are not immediately available, we will inform you of the expected timeframe. You may choose to wait for parts or cancel the service.

10. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone at our discretion, including but not limited to situations where:

  • The requested service is unsafe or illegal
  • The customer is abusive, threatening, or uncooperative
  • The device is reported as stolen or lost
  • Payment cannot be secured

11. Uncollected Devices

If a device is not collected within 30 days of repair completion, we reserve the right to charge a storage fee of £5 per week. After 90 days, we may dispose of the device in accordance with applicable laws, and you will remain liable for all outstanding charges.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, and images, is the property of Kerfix and is protected by UK copyright laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or use our content without our written permission.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our Services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from these Terms or our Services will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
